Ultimate Pool Professional Series Commentary Team Announced

An expert panel of commentators and analysts will take to the microphones throughout this season’s Ultimate Pool Professional and Challenger Series’ which will be broadcast live on FreeSports TV, via an exclusive livestream on ultimatepoolgroup.com and the upcoming Ultimate Pool App.

Monday night Ultimate Pool punditry duo Steve Jamieson and Simon Webb will return tableside, and this time they will be joined by several other of the sport’s most respected and recognised voices.

Former England international and professional player Webb is excited about this new era for 8-ball pool; “This feels like a watershed moment for the sport. The serious levels of sponsorship that Ultimate Pool have attracted for both the Pro series and the Challenger series has increased the prize pots to a level that I’ve never seen before in pool.

“As well as this, the structure, set up and professionalism from Ultimate Pool, gives me the belief and excitement that this is only the start of the journey.

I feel very lucky and privileged to be part of the commentary team for the series. With the quality of the players, the format and the rules, we are guaranteed to have incredible events, filled with high-class pool and plenty of drama.”

One of those making their Ultimate Pool commentary debuts will be Nick Phinn.

Phinn’s soothing tones have been a familiar constant on the money match and tournament scene for several years now and the Somerset-based expert is looking forward to being a part of the innovative Series’.

“I’m thrilled to be involved in the upcoming Ultimate Pool Series. This event is breaking new ground in the sport with a fantastic line-up and displays unprecedented value for the players. The set-up of the Challenger and Pro Series provides a structured approach to promotion and relegation that gives everybody an opportunity to play at the highest level for incredible prize money.

Will Caldwell, Zac Leonard, Lee Kendall and Michael Day will also be part of the overall Media and Communications team for throughout the Series.

Professional Player Analysis

Several all-time greats of the sport who are competing on the Series will also feature on commentary, providing fascinating insight into the thought processes of a world class 8-ball pool player.

Amongst those who will temporarily swap a cue for a headset include multi-time world champion trio Michael Hill, Emma Cunningham and Chris Melling, who have 12 world crowns between them.
