Ultimate Pool Grand Slam Draws Released

A total prize fund of nearly £60,000 will be paid out across the course of the upcoming Ultimate Pool Grand Slam, and the draws for both big-money events are out now.

New to the Ultimate Pool calendar, the three-day extravaganza between the 18th-20th February consists of two tournaments taking place at the same time at the Players Pool & Snooker Lounge in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Challenger Grand Slam will feature 128 of this season’s Challenger Series players, whilst the Professional Grand Slam will see those currently on the sport’s top tier.

THE PROFESSIONAL GRAND SLAM

An Ultimate Pool Professional Ranking Event, the winner of the Professional Grand Slam will trouser an impressive £14,000.

The competition features an initial double elimination phase, with 16 qualifying through to the money rounds. From the last 16 onwards, the format changes to straight knockout.

The top 16 seeds for the event enter the second set of matches, with those unseeded facing each other in the opening round ties. Those in action early on include Professional Cup winner Jordan Shepherd who plays former World Masters winner Josh Kane, and Professional Cup runner-up Tom Cousins who meets Chris Day. Recent Pairs Cup champion Karl Sutton will be looking for Ultimate Pool singles success; his campaign begins with a tie against Dan Eaton-Lees.
