Tom Cousins Triumphant at Clash of the Titans

Tom Cousins capped off a near perfect season with a grandstand finish by lifting the Ultimate Pool Clash of the Titans trophy in front of a packed crowd at the Brentwood Centre.

Clash of the Titans delivered a day of excitement and drama in Essex with the day concluding in a showdown between Shaun Storry and Cousins, with Top Cat edging it in the end.

The packed crowd was treated to four hours of entertainment in the early afternoon session as Chris Melling and the other seven Titans delivered a string of exhibitions on the arena table.

Declan Brennan auditioned members in attendance for the role of his new Pairs partner whilst Tom Cousins lined up a random selection of the audience to see how many wins he could notch up in 30 minutes.

Melling and Carl Morris delivered their world-famous trick shows; whilst Shane Thompson, Jordan Shepherd, Stevie Dempsey and Shaun Storry also helped to put on a great show.

At 18:30 we got the main event underway with a random generator calling out each Titan in a straight knock out format.

Shepherd squared up against Morris in the first match with Houdini winning with a Golden Break which brought the whole house to a standing ovation.

What followed was an exhibition of pool from eight of the best players in the world. Cousins v Morris and Storry and Brennan made up the Semi Final line up with each having an eye on the night’s main prize.

Cousins saw off Morris before Storry booked his final spot with a win over Brennan.

Top Cat and Autopilot put on entertaining final with Cousins bringing the night to an end with a 6-4 victory before lifting the night’s trophy which was presented by Ultimate Pool commercial director Scott Ryan and West Ham footballing legend Frank McAvennie.

The Clash of the Titans delivered everything it promised and a little bit more…. And we can’t wait to do it all again in 2024.
